Zyrus LP1200 Strada road legal TÜV certified hypercar hits the road in Europe

Norway, May 22nd 2023 –

Today we can reveal our new road legal masterpiece, the Zyrus LP1200 Strada. A world’s first, road legal twin-turbo 1200HP machine, designed and built in Norway, certified for road use by TÜV Rheinland.

The Zyrus LP1200 journey is a bold and unconventional way to build a high-performance track focused machine, with superior driving performance that can be enjoyed equally on the road and on the track. It is fully equipped with unique characteristics found in a race car and one of the few hypercars truly engineered for thrill seekers.

Offered in a limited production run, only 9 cars will be built, the initial #001 car off the production line is soon to be delivered to its first customer in Germany, with a second car now in production and a third car due later this year.

“It’s been a dream since I was a child to build my own supercar, and being a lifelong fan of the Lamborghini mark, it was my goal to pay homage to the iconic Huracán platform and develop it into my dream vision of a Lamborghini, but, it did not happen overnight”, commented Zyrus Engineering CEO and Founder, Radni Molhampour.

“It’s been fifteen years since we started racing and it’s taken us five years of racing Lamborghini’s and in-house development to reach this milestone, obsessing over the smallest and finest details. We are incredibly proud that all these years of dedication have been recognized and that all the parts we have developed are now certified by TÜV, many said it was an impossible task but we stayed focused and we never gave up,” he exclaimed.

“We have decided to make these cars as unique as possible for each owner and we will only build nine cars in total, each one will be unique and tailored to each customer”, he continued.

The Zyrus Strada LP1200 is based on the original DNA of the Lamborghini Huracán Evo and each part has been meticulously disassembled down to the bare chassis and sympathetically re-inspired and re-engineered.

With over 600 parts replaced, modified and strengthened, including an all new removable carbon fiber body panels with quick fasteners, all designed and manufactured in-house to improve downforce and optimize the handling stability at high speeds.

A few of the bespoke carbon features include, carbon engine cover and rear hatch, carbon front splitter, carbon vents and floating side fins, enlarged twin profile swan neck rear wing, carbon mirrors, and a flat three section carbon underfloor with a unique exposed carbon rear four fin diffuser.

The suspension is Öhlins TTX 4 way adjustable, modified to cope with the extra downforce the car produces, twinned with a bespoke airlift system for road and comfort travel. Carbon-ceramic disks and bespoke forged 19” front and 20” rear wheels on Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires ensure this machine remains stable on track and road.

A full custom Inconel exhaust system compliments a unique exceptional twin-turbo engineering setup with additional air cooling and directional top mount fans, on the 5.2-litre V10 engine, there is no compromise on performance.

The Zyrus Strada LP1200 is designed to out-perform and engineered to demand more from its drivers, it is the ultimate track focused machine. However the interior retains the human-machine interface 8.4-inch touchscreen system and daily drive functions such as air conditioning, entertainment and navigation systems, upgraded rear view reversing camera and lights comply with road laws.

The seats are adorned in hand stitched leather, bearing the Strada emblem with carbon and alcantara, race harnesses, and a color coordinated titanium half roll cage, providing further cockpit safety features.

The Strada LP1200 is engineered to challenge drivers and push boundaries, providing the tools they need to progress on track. With reliability being the key, the machine has already proven its pedigree on track. Zyrus Engineering team has executed over 18,000 km of on track running with rigorous testing programs and racing around some of the world’s best circuits.

Driver video logging and data can also be recorded with a unique electronic ‘Smart Dash’ control system, sensors provide an iCloud compatible data acquisition, telemetry and temperature monitoring system, where drivers can view parameters and analyse options via their smartphone that can be housed on the dash mount bracket, and upload to the cloud for further analysis off track.

The system also includes 3 HD video recording cameras with microphone, and shift warning light bar. With little or no experience of data analysis the system is designed to be completely user friendly. Other track additions include, towing eyes front and rear, FIA standard ‘Lifeline’ internal and external fire suppression systems and FIA standard OMP 4 point passenger and driver racing harnesses, drivers can be assured that safety is paramount at all times.

The LP1200 Strada offers daily usability with three different onboard switchable pre-programmed maps, interchangeable from the display on board, the Strada mode is at 700hp, Sport mode at 900hp and Corsa mode at 1217hp, all TÜV db certified, the driver has complete control at their fingertips.

Racing and Development Driver for Zyrus Engineering, Fredrik Sørlie, “It is a dream come true to be involved with such a project from start to finish. We started back in 2018 racing two standard Super Trofeo’s, then developed the 1200HP twin turbo setup and raced that in the Norwegian GT+ Championship for two years and won the Championship in 2020. We have further developed the car on some of the World’s best circuits and gained a lot of intelligence for this show stopping machine. Nothing gives us greater pleasure than to share our passion with the world and help aspiring drivers to attain the track-based knowledge that helps them quickly develop their talent.”

The Zyrus LP1200 machines are proven to be both hyper-fast and reliable with over 18,000 km completed on legendary race tracks such as Spa-Francorchamps, with a 2:20m lap time on a track day and on the Nürburgring the car achieved a 6:48m full lap time also on a mixed track / test day. Testing continued in hot weather at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi and Dubai Autodrome in the Middle East. Additionally, the car also campaigned two race seasons in the Norwegian Extreme GT+ Championship, taking the overall Championship title in September 2020.

Zyrus customers can further access the tailored ‘Owner Driver Package’ with several options of logistical solutions, professional coaching, racing, private track day events, track-side support and servicing options.

The Zyrus Strada LP1200 is POA, which includes a three-year limited warranty, the cost of the donor car, and a track day familiarization and coaching package.
