Zyrus Engineering is a specialist low volume auto design and engineering company located north of Norway’s capital city of Oslo.
From the outset, our company has focused on innovation, daring to make unconventional design choices, to push the boundaries of automotive engineering, turning our dreams into reality. Our purpose built facility is proud to use state of art machinery, 3D scanning, 3D printing, CNC machining and carbon fiber manufacture, all conducted in house.
The company was founded fifteen years ago by founder and CEO Radni Molhampour. Since then the Zyrus team has been actively racing over several seasons with both Lamborghini Super Trofeo and the Huracán, in Europe’s most extreme race series, the Norwegian Extreme GT1+ category. This has offered up unique expertise in developing extreme horsepower twin turbo cars in particular.
In 2018 the company developed a prototype car and engineered a bespoke twin turbo system on the Super Trofeo platform. The Zyrus LP1200 R race car is built to perform in all areas and is customized to handle all modifications with its very unique aero package and the engineering for this extreme form of motorsport. The car took the Norwegian Extreme GT+ overall Championship title in September 2020 and were runners up in 2021.
Zyrus LP1200 machines are proven to be both hyper-fast and reliable and the programme of testing expanded to extreme hot conditions in the Middle East at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi and Dubai Autodrome in 2019 with developments drivers Fredrik Sørlie and LMP racing driver Oliver Webb.
2020 – Further testing resumed the following year at Spa-Francorchamps, where the car achieved a 2:20m lap time on a supercar track day, and on the Nürburgring Nordshleife the car confidently achieved a 6m 48s on a full lap (20.830 km /12.943 mi) during a mixed trackday/ test day, and after overtaking 10 cars on that lap, this time is firmly in the top 10 fastest lap times of some manufacturers who hire the circuit privately.
In 2021 Zyrus Engineering started to develop the road legal version, the LP1200 Strada, and work commenced on building a machine to suit both track day reliability and road going compliance. With all carbon fibre production, engineering and painting done inhouse, the team has complete control of every design and production detail.
In May 2023 the LP1200 Strada was revealed as the world’s first to be thoroughly tested and certified by TÜV Rheinland for road use.
The Zyrus Strada LP1200 is based on the original DNA of the Lamborghini Huracán Evo and each part has been meticulously disassembled down to the bare chassis and sympathetically re-inspired and re-engineered for ultimate performance.
With over 600 parts replaced, modified and strengthened, including all new removable complete carbon fiber body with quick fasteners for easy removal and replacement all designed and manufactured in-house, to improve aerodynamics and increase downforce.
A few of the bespoke carbon features include, carbon engine cover and rear hatch, front adjustable splitter, carbon vents and floating side fins, enlarged twin profile swan neck rear wing, carbon mirrors, and a flat 3 section carbon underfloor with a unique carbon rear 4 fin diffuser.
With over with over 18,000 km completed Zyrus Engineering aims to continuously develop high-tech vehicles in-house together with our trusted partners and co-operators.
Update – This car is now proudly part of the Boutsen Collection in Monaco (as of 2024)
Fuel consumption combined 15.8 L / 100km ( NEDC ) CO2 – emissions combined 357 g/km ( NEDC )
Oct 2023 – The new LP1020 Stimolante was released, again based on the Lamborghini Huracan EVO platform, the unique twin turbo system and again significantly enhances the V10 engine to produce a whopping 1090 available horsepower.
This new sport model has been specially developed into a formidable machine for those seeking an extraordinary driving experience on road and track that can be legally registered, insured and driven on the road.
What distinguishes the Zyrus LP1020 Stimolante from other modified supercars is that this is the only one of its kind that is certified by KÜS Technik GmbH in Germany and is approved throughout the EU with its 1090hp. Despite the extreme performance, the car meets all requirements for emissions (Euro 6), radiation (EMC) and noise level (dB). KÜS has also certified chassis strength and all other modifications and upgrades including the aero.
